STORY SHOP SEARCHING FOR SENIOR HIRE TO HELP PLOT NEXT CHAPTER.
Story Shop, the PR agency founded in 2020 by Scarlett and Gregor Hollerin just days before lockdown, is recruiting a new Account Director or Senior Account Director to help lead its next phase of growth.
In five years, the agency has grown from two founders working from home to a 12-strong team delivering global campaigns for clients including Innis & Gunn, The Social Hub, The Maclean Brothers, Bruichladdich, Scottish Rugby and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Recently named one of the world’s top 100 independent agencies by The Drum and PRCA Medium-Sized Agency of the Year, Story Shop has helped raise millions for charity and secured front-page coverage worldwide.
The senior hire will lead major retained accounts, drive strategy, support commercial growth and play a key role in shaping the agency’s future.
Based at The Social Hub in Glasgow, the role comes with perks including unlimited annual leave, private healthcare, specialty coffee, gym access and European team trips.
A LEADING PR agency founded days before lockdown is on the hunt for a senior recruit as it prepares to take its next leap.
Story Shop, launched in 2020 by Scarlett and Gregor Hollerin, is looking to make an Account Director or Senior Account Director-level appointment to its small but ambitious team.
In five years, the Glasgow-founded agency has gone from two people in their living room with a nagging suspicion that agencies could be done differently to a team of 12 incredible folk working with stupendous clients including Innis & Gunn, The Social Hub, The Maclean Brothers (those guys who rowed the Pacific and chatted to Mark Wahlberg and Flea while at sea), Bruichladdich, Scoop Restaurant Group, Scottish Rugby and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
Along the way it has helped raise millions for charity, landed front pages around the world, and helped good purpose-driven brands make real impact.
The firm was recently named among the world’s top 100 independent agencies by The Drum and won PRCA Medium-Sized Agency of the Year.
Co-founder Scarlett Hollerin said: “We started Story Shop because we saw from both the client-side and in an agency, that a lot of agencies were stuck in their ways. We thought there was an opportunity to shake things up.
“We’re proud of where we’ve got to and how we’ve got there, but now’s the time to take another step. We’re looking for someone who wants real responsibility and isn’t scared to make things happen.”
The successful candidate will run major retained accounts, lead senior client conversations and help shape strategy across the PR agency’s portfolio.
As well as delivering campaigns, the new recruit will help strengthen commercial growth, both through new business and by growing existing accounts.
Scarlett added: “Whether it’s a senior account manager in a hurry, an account director looking for a better cultural fit, someone currently in-house who knows agencies inside and out, or even a commercially-savvy former journalist who fancies swapping the newsroom for…our office, we’re keen to have good conversations with good people.
“We’re looking for someone creative, calm under pressure and slightly impatient, but nice. That usually works well here.”
Story Shop is based at The Social Hub in Glasgow and offers unlimited annual leave, private healthcare and insurance, unlimited specialty coffee, a free on-site gym as well as classes in everything from pilates to cooking. There’s a rooftop bar on site and the company has been known to take European trips (to Amsterdam last year and Barcelona in 2024).
Applicants are asked to email dannii@wearestoryshop.com with a CV and a short note explaining why they would be a strong fit. There is one request: don’t use AI to write it.
“We already know how Claude writes and thinks,” Scarlett added. “We want to see how you do.”
ENDS.

Notes to people named Claude
Apologies if your name is Claude. That must be awfully confusing. If your name is Claude and you fit all that’s outlined above, then we’d love to hear from you. We just don’t want people using the AI platform Claude (or any other) to write their application as we’d just get loads of people saying kind of the same thing, often talking about a different agency altogether, and we would be no further forward.
